Notice of Intent to Fill Board Vacancy

The Board of Directors of the Rose Hill Special Utility District (“Rose Hill SUD”) is seeking applications from qualified applicants to fill the unexpired term of one at-large director of the Board of Directors of the Rose Hill SUD, located in Kaufman County, until the next general election. The unexpired term of the at-large director extends through 2024 and the position will be up for election in May 2025. Interested persons may apply for the position by submitting a signed application by 5:00 p.m. August 15, 2024. To qualify for the position, candidates must, as of the date of appointment: 1) be at least 18 years old; 2) a resident citizen of this state; 3) either own land subject to taxation in the district, be a user of the facilities of the district, or be a qualified voter of the district; 4) not have been determined mentally incompetent by a final judgment; and 5) not have been finally convicted of a felony unless the conviction has been fully discharged or pardoned or the candidate has been otherwise released from the resulting disabilities.

Rose Hill SUD is a special utility district that serves 1595 connections with an estimated population of 4,785 customers. A detailed map of the district is available for inspection at the Rose Hill SUD office.

The Texas Constitution, Article XVI, section 40, prohibits a person from simultaneously holding two civil offices of emolument, “No person shall hold or exercise at the same time, more than one civil office of emolument.
